A new student group dedicated to the free exchange of ideas.

The spirit of free inquiry is an educational necessity.
The purpose of education is to teach how to think, not what to think. To instill wisdom, not ideology.
We’re founding a new community on campus focused on embracing these ideals. Grounded in the perennial principles of free speech, civil discourse, and free inquiry, our group will reinvigorate Brown with its foundational tenets of intellectual freedom, tolerance, and diversity of thought. We’re creating a space on campus for the free exchange of ideas, devoid of personal reprisal, where respect for others’ beliefs trumps all.
Free Inquiry at Brown is a student group composed of open-minded and curious people dedicated to the liberal notion of education. We host talks, debates, and student discussions surrounding hot-button political, philosophical, and economic issues.
Who We Are
We are a new community of students united by our open-minds and a devotion to free speech and free inquiry.
